1408910 Telephoto lenses PONDER & BEST Inc 8 Sept 1972 [10 Sept 1971 7 Sept 1972] 41928/72 Heading G2J A telephoto lens, comprises a housing 10, a plurality of objective elements 20.... 25 coaxially mounted in the housing means for moving the elements axially in fixed relation to focus the lens, and a lens 32 having zero or negative power mounted in the housing behind the elements in fixed relation to the housing and being effective to correct off-axis aberration when the elements are moved to close focus the lens. The equivalent focal length of the lens 32 is at least twice the back focal length of the overall lens which should be at least 0.7 times the diagonal of the image frame 18 of the camera 16. The lens 32 may be an air spaced or lemented doublet. Optical data are given.
