Abstract

1408428 Lamps R N CRABTREE 28 Dec 1973 [1 Oct 1972] 30906/72 Heading F4R [Also in Divisions A6 and G5] An artificial tree 2, e.g. a Christmas tree, is mounted on a shaft 6 on a turntable which is revolvable by a motor 14 and carries electric lamps 4 powered via brushes 24, 26, &c., music or other sound producing means being provided in the base 8 of the tree. In Fig. 1, the sound producing means is a gramophone 36, to which records are supplied through a slot in the base 8: in Fig. 2, the sound producing means is a cassette player 36<SP>1</SP>. The gramophone 36 and the cassette player 36<SP>1</SP> are driven by the motor 14. Power for the motor 14 and the lamps 4 is supplied through leads 20, a step-down transformer 18 and leads 32 to concentric stationary rings 28, 30 over which the brushes 24, 26 slide, to carry current through leads 22 up the shaft 6 to the lamps 4. The side of the base 8 may have an internally illuminated fabric, &c panel bearing a picture, &c.
