Abstract

1406355 Constructional elements J C FALKENBERG 30 Jean 1973 [31 Jan 1972 29 June 1972] 4637/73 Headings E1B and E1W [Also in Divisions B5 B7 and F2] A constructional element for use as load bearing floors, walls or doors comprises parallel boards 2 interconnected by angularly corrugated strips 4 provided with projecting teeth at the apices of the corrugations. The boards are preferably wood and the teeth penetrate the boards and are bent over. Many forms of tooth and strip are disclosed and the strips may extend around the periphery of the boards 2 thereby enclosing a hollow space. In the latter case the connection between the strips and the boards may be made watertight to provide buoyant structures for use in pontoons bridges or floating piers. The elements may also be used for ships decks and as bottoms and walls for large cargo containers. The edges of the elements may have projections and recesses bent out of the strips for interconnection of adjacent elements or a sinusoidal connecting strip may bridge a joint between elements.
