Abstract

1406101 Clearing rollers DEERING MILLIKEN RESEARCH CORP 7 Sept 1972 41636/ 72 Heading D1D A scraper for clearing lint etc from rollers comprises a pair notched (at 60) pivotally supported arms 48 each carrying scrapers 28 in U-shaped supports by means of pins 52. Preferably the notched parts of arms 48 are selectively displaceable along arms so as to correspond to different roll settings. In operation, a cam 70 on one of the roller shafts intermittently pivots the scrapers upwardly thereby allowing collected lint etc to fall away. The scrapers 28 are contsructed so that an upward movement they rotate under gravity about pins 52 to present a new scraping edge to the rollers as they are swung downwardly into the operating position again.
