Abstract

1405728 Wells &c BAKER OIL TOOLS INC 29 March 1973 [28 July 1972] 54353/74 Divided out of 1405727 Heading E1F The contents are the same as for Specification 1405727 but the claims relate to the tool which can be lowered down the well pipe to open the valve. The tool comprises an inner mandrel 260 attached to a wire line 262 and carries through a pin and slot arrangement a slidable actuator sleeve 268 which is actuable by fluid in the upper well conduit. A latch sleeve 288 is disposed below the sleeve 268 and upon downward movement of the latter, fingers 289 are moved outwardly to engage the locking mechanism sleeve 196. Movement shears the pins 197 holding the sleeve 196 to the pipe body and the sleeve 196 abuts cylinder 185 to open the valve.
