Abstract
1404552 Aerials LIBBEY-OWENS-FORD CO 8 Oct 1973 [20 Oct 1972] 46858/73 Heading H4A A windscreen comprises outer glass sheets 14, 15, Fig. 2, an inner plastics material sheet 16, and an aerial which includes spaced, parallel, vertically arranged wire elements 20, 21 extending downwardly to an elongated connecting tab 24, which is disposed across them, and around which they are wrapped. As shown, the tab 24 is contained in a recess 17 in the glass sheet 15. The wires, apart from their lower ends, and the central part of the tab are bonded to the plastics material sheet 16. Each wire is passed over the front of the tab, then under, and any surplus is cut off. The wires, and the end of a connecting lead 30, are soldered to the tab 24, and thereafter the recess 17 is filled with a suitable plastics sealing material. Another form of tab is shown in Fig. 10. The vertically disposed aerial elements may be continued with respective horizontally disposed elements near the upper edge of the windscreen (Fig. 1, not shown).
