Abstract

1404474 Coupling lids and trays SPRINTER PACK AB 26 Oct 1972 [1 Nov 1971] 49513/72 Heading B8P [Also in Division F2] A lid 56 and a tray 54 are coupled by a tongue 30 cut from the lid 56 engaging in a recess 14 formed on the inside of the tray 54, and an end edge 27 of an opening which is formed as a consequence of the cutting-out of the tongue 30, engaging behind an end wall 20 of a projection which is formed on the outside of the tray 54 as a consequence of the recess 14. The end wall of the projection includes a hook-like projection (22, Figs. 5 and 6). The side margins (36, Fig. 5) of the tongue 30 may be folded out of the plane of the tongue to lie against the side walls of the recess 14, alternatively the side edges (76, 78, Fig. 8) of the tongue (79, Fig. 8) may be received in grooves (82, 84, Fig. 8) in the side walls (72, 74, Fig. 8) of the recess. The side walls (72, 74) of the recess and the side edges (76, 78) of the tongue may converge towards the end wall of the recess and the end edge of the tongue respectively. The lid is of carton board or plastics sheet material and the tray is of plastics sheet. The tray may be compartmented.
