Abstract
1403428 Composite rovings G LAUTIER 13 Sept 1972 [14 Sept 1971] 42489/72 Headings D1F D1N and D1W A composite textile roving comprising a plurality of fibres which may differ in nature, colour and size, is manufactured by a method comprising placing a plurality of single rovings together continuously and longitudinally and rolling the rovings on themselves to convert them into a composite roving, at least one of the rovings being continuous, and at least one of the rovings being discontinuous and obtained from a continuous roving which is fed intermittently to the means placing the rovings together and is parted upstream of the placing means at each stop of the feeding means. Rovings from bobbins 2, 2' and 3, 3' are fed to rubbing leathers 7, 8 to form a composite roving. The rollers 10, 10' may rotate intermittently and in synchronism with intermittent supply of rovings 2, 2' to break the rovings 2, 2' between rolls 10, 10' and 11, 11': The composite roving is twisted conventionally to form a yarn.
