1402983 Vehicle windscreen and head-lamp cleaning systems GENERAL MOTORS CORP 2 May 1974 [2 May 1973] 19221/74 Heading A4F In a vehicle windscreen and head-lamp cleaning system a pump 2 delivers washing liquid from a container to conduits connected to nozzles for washing the windscreen and the head-lamp lenses, respectively, and an electromagnetic valve 7, having an inlet to receive pumped liquid and at least two outlets respectively connected to the head-lamp washing nozzles, is connected in an electric circuit including the head-lamps 20, a windscreen wiper motor 26 and a head-lamp wiper motor 27 so that the outlets are opened only when both the head-lamp wiper system and the vehicle head-lamps are switched on. Closure of light switch 21 energizes the head-lamps 20 and a relay 22 to close contacts 22a, 22b in series with the head-lamp wiper motor 27 and the electro- magnetic valve 7. Thus when a switch 25 is closed to energize the windscreen wiper motor 26 and the pump 2 the valve 7 and the motor 27 are energized via a contact 25a to provide head-lamp washing and wiping.
