Abstract

1401435 Adsorbed bis-(dihydrocarbyl thiophosphoryl)tri- and tetra-sulphides IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Sept 1972 [7 Oct 1971] 46730/71 Heading C3E Rubber is vulcanized using as vulcanizing agent a crude bis-(dihydrocarbylthiophosphoryl) tri- or tetrasulphide adsorbed on a solid-siliceous filler. Preferred adsorbents are hydrated silicates and amorphous silica. A dedusting agent, e.g. mineral oil may be included in the vulcanizing agent/filler mixture. Examples are given of the vulcanization of natural rubber formulations containing (i) bis-(diethylthiophosphoryl) tri- or tetra-sulphide and calcium silicate or silica, optionally with mineral oil or (ii) bis-(diisopropyl- or dibutyl-dithiophosphoryl) tri- or tetra-sulphide and silica. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,271,224.
