Abstract
1498621 Heat exchangers R W PAGE 16 June 1975 [15 March 1974] 11621/74 Heading F4S An air to air heat exchanger comprises a framework of elements 19 ... 22 which supports an elongated flexible membrane e.g. of thin polythene, in a seies of hairpin loops forming side by side passages with spaced parallel side walls 10, 11 and alternate passages for the two air flows having open mouths 13, 15 at the bottom and top respectively. The open ends 14, 17 of the passages are blocked by vertical frame members 23, 24 and 25, 26 secured to the elements 19, 22 except at positions remote from the mouths 13, 15 respectively so as to form side outlets 31, 32. Respective air flows therefore pass through inlet openings 30, 32 to pass countercurrently through the passages and exhaust through the side outlets 31, 33.
