Abstract

1498178 Valves ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO Ltd 15 April 1975 [26 June 1974] 28242/74 Heading F2V In a valve controlling flow from a port 3 to a port 4 the latter port communicates with a groove 5 in the flat highly polished surface 2. The grooves varies in width and/or depth to give a cross-section which decreases in a direction away from the port 4. A flexible rubber strip 6 covers the port 4 and the groove, is biased away from the surface 2 by a spring blade 8 and is moved towards the surface 2 by a screwed plunger 9 so as to vary the flow crosssection. The screw 9 may be replaced by a lever mechanism or a diaphragm. Alternatively the end of the flap is attached to a roller or sliding block which is moved along the groove to roll up the flap.
