Abstract

1497448 Tape cassettes SONY CORP 7 Nov 1975 [20 Nov 1974] 46218/75 Heading B8M An idler roller 39 in an idler roller assembly 37 of a tape cassette 1 includes a hub 55 which is rotatably mounted on a pin or shaft 41 between walls 3, 5 of the cassette 1, the walls 3, 5 of the cassette 1 including tubular walls 43, 45 respectively which project into recesses 59, 61 defined by the hub 55 and radially outer tubular portion 49 which defines a tape engaging surface and an intermediate portion 63 of the roller 39 so that lubricant 69 which fills the space between the hub 55 and the shaft 41 is retained within the roller 39 and not splashed in use. The splasing is further curbed by providing felt pads 71, 73. The walls 43, 45 are preferably formed integrally with the wall portions 3, 5 and may be formed of a moulded synthetic resinous material.
