Abstract
1496961 Electro-photography XEROX CORP 25 Feb 1975 [4 March 1974] 7814/75 Heading G2H An imaging process comprises increasing the potential difference between two adjacent electrostatic charge patterns of different charge density on a photo-conductive surface by lightly developing with toner particles and exposing to light through the thus formed mask of toner particles, and then fully developing the resultant increased contrast latent image. The invention is particularly applicable to x-ray photography where, in order to keep the exposure to a minimum, the exposure is insufficient to reduce the charge potential on the non-shadow parts of the photo-conductive surface to zero but reduces it only to an intermediate level, e.g. half the shadow area charge potential. An apparatus for carrying out the process, which utilizes a powder cloud developing device, is described and illustrated.
