Abstract
1496858 Heat-insulating material PROIZVODSTVEN-TEKH OBIEDINE "ROSORGTEKHSTROM" USSR 31 Aug 1976 36056/76 Heading C1H A composition for use in the manufacture of heat-insulation material comprises a mineral binder (i.e. gypsum, concrete (Portland cement) or lime), water, and a porous filler being expanded soluble glass granules (sodium silicate) having a mean particle size of 2-10 mm., a weight per unit volume of 40-100 kg/m<SP>3</SP>, and a mechanical strength of from 1-4 kgf/cm<SP>2</SP>. In addition the composition may comprise a siliceous component (e.g. sand, quartz sand, tripoli earth, diatomaceous earth and silica-containing wastes from commercial processes) and a blowing agent (e.g. aluminium powder).
