Abstract

1496485 Two-part couplings J. A. CRABTREE & CO Ltd 9 Dec 1974 [8 Dec 1973] 57005/73 Heading H2E An electric plug has retained in its base 24 at least one pin 2 on the shank 4 of which an insulating sleeve 14 is located, the pin 2 having a recess (10), see Figs. 1 and 4 (not shown) in which an internally directed projection (18), see Figs. 2 and 5 (not shown) is received to inhibit separation of the rim and sleeve. As shown, two recesses (10) and projections (18) are provided, the recesses being on the narrower faces of a pin rectangular in cross-section. The sleeve 14 may be provided with inclined faces on the projections (18) to assist in assembly of the sleeve and pin, and with outwardly extending fingers (22), see Figs. 2 and 5 (not shown) which when the assembly of the pin and sleeve is inserted into the plug base engage under internal shoulders (29), see Figs. 3 and 6 (not shown), of recesses (28) of the base, to retain the assembly thereon.
