Abstract
1495869 Rotating drum dryer ZEROWATT SpA 14 Jan 1976 [5 May 1975] 01487/76 Heading F4G [Also in Division D1] A washing and drying machine comprises a rotatable and/or oscillatable drum 5 in a washing chamber 4 having an access door 1 and is provided with air-drying means, comprising suction means 8 for drawing air in through the door 1 into a space 10 between the drum and the wall of the chamber and for expelling through a filter 9 the air together with water vapour extracted from the laundry, and one or more heating elements 6 in the space 10, for heating both the washing liquid and the air sucked into the space. Air is drawn in through openings 2, 3 and passes partly into the space 10 and partly into the drum. The elements 6 are preferably of the electrical resistance type. The air-drying operation may be preceded by a spin-drying stage.
