Abstract
1495565 Shaft couplings LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 25 March 1975 [9 May 1974] 20615/74 Heading F2U An externally splined element 10 has each spline in at least four axially-aligned and axiallyspaced parts, the parts being separated by circumferential grooves 13 or alternatively by a helical groove. The division of the splines reduces wear when they are surrounded by a liquid or grease, reducing cavitation caused by alternate compression and release of the fluid.
