Abstract

1494361 Concealed sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 26 Feb 1975 [7 March 1974] 7971/75 Heading E2S A concealed sliding clasp fastener comprises a pair of opposed stringer tapes 11, 11' each having a longitudinal element-carrying edge 22 inwardly folded on itself; rows of fastener elements 12, 12' secured to respective elementcarrying edges, each of the fastener elements having an upper leg portion 13, a lower leg portion 14 and a coupling head 15, 15' merging into these leg portions, the lower leg portion being provided with a recess. 17 for accommodating sewing threads, a filler cord 19 inserted longitudinally in a space defined between said upper and lower leg portions of the fastener elements, and a first 24 and a second 25 sewing thread for securing the row of fastener elements to the said element carrying edge 22. The fastener, according to the invention, also includes the features that the first sewing thread 24 passes substantially vertically towards the recess 17 through the filler cord 19 and securing the latter together with the elements to said element carrying edge, said second sewing thread extending from said recess 17 obliquely at an angle to the vertical axis of the stringer and located immediately adjacent the fold of the respective stringer tape and urging the filler cord away from the coupling region of the fastener elements. The fastener elements are in the form of a continuous helically coiled structure, the tapes being of a warp knitted structure to provide a series of alternate wales 20 and grooves 21. The first and second sewing threads 24, 25 are interlooped by a thread 26. The fastener elements may be of meandering, or other suitable form.
