Abstract

1493438 Adjustable seat BREMSHEY AG 25 Feb 1975 [28 Feb 1974] 7765/75 Heading A4J A mechanism for adjusting the height and/or inclination of a vehicle seat I comprises toothed segments 6, 11 rotatably mounted on a support frame 2 and pivotally connected to the seat through links 4, the segments 6, 11 being engaged by pawls 13, 14 which are both simultaneously or alternately slidably disengaged from their respective toothed segments by rotation of a single hand lever 20. The pawls may be superposed and provided with recesses 21, 22 in which a pin 19 mounted on the hand lever is disposed such that rotation of the hand lever in one direction causes disengagement of one of the pawls and rotation of the hand lever in the other direction causes disengagement of the other of the pawls. In a second embodiment Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) pin 19 is replaced by a rectangular block and the hand lever is rotatable about the centre of the block such that both pawls are disengaged on rotation of the lever in one direction. In a third embodiment Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown) the pawls are disposed side by side and the hand lever is pivotally connected on the support frame at a point (42) above the pawls and has a pin (47) engaging the recesses in the pawls. Alternatively the pin may be replaced by a rectangular block.
