Abstract

1492498 Plastisol coating compositions DEUTSCHE SOLVAY-WERKE GmbH 11 Aug 1975 [10 Aug 1974] 33450/75 Heading C3P [Also in Division B2] Plastisol compositions used in coating applications comprise 100 parts by weight of a pastemaking vinyl chloride homopolymer or copolymer (e.g. a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer), 10-400 parts of pyrite cinders, and 50-200 parts of one or more plasticizers. In a modification up to 50% by weight of the pyrite cinders are replaced by a filler, e.g. calcium carbonate or ground chalk. Dioctyl phthalate is exemplified as plasticizer. Optional components include thinning agents (e.g. alkylbenzenes), stabilizers (e.g. a Ba/Cd stabilizer), cross-linking agents and initiators (e.g. trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate and t-butyl perbenzoate), pigments and blowing agents. Coatings produced are stated to have antistatic and reduced flammability properties.
