Abstract

1492088 Ink jets INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 28 Oct 1975 [27 Jan 1975] 44287/75 Heading B6P A nozzle unit for an ink jet printer includes a block 21 with a passageway 24 and a nozzle plate 33 with a nozzle element 34. The block has surfaces 31, 32 in grooves 27, 28 which are used to position the opening 36 in alignment with the aperture 25 in the block 21. The block 21 and plate 33 may be of glass and joined by glass solder 35. The block may be cut from a length of glass which extends in the direction of the grooves 27, 28. The plate 33 is cut from a length of glass having a channel filled by a tube 34 held in place by glass solder.
