Abstract

1491935 Dyeing polyesters BASF AG 21 March 1975 [22 March 1974 14 Sept 1974] 11860/75 Heading D1B Polyester fibres are dyed with a disperse dye, in an aqueous liquor at a temperature above 100‹C and an elevated pressure sufficient to maintain a liquid phase, by a process in which the aqueous liquor contains as dyeing auxiliary an emulsifiable aliphatic ester, nitrile or ketone each of from 7-16 C atoms or an emulsifiable aliphatic alcohol of from 8-12 C atoms in emulsified form. The preferred quantity of dyeing auxiliary is 0.3 to 3 parts per 1000 parts of liquor. The emulsifier is preferably a mixture of nonionic and anionic surfactants. Auxiliaries preferred are alkyl esters of monocarboxylic acids, dialkyl esters of dicarboxylic acids, mono- and di-nitriles, dialkyl ketones, and straight chain or methyl or ethyl substituted branched fatty alcohols.
