Abstract

1491920 Feeding inserts to moulds UNIROYAL AG 28 April 1975 [21 May 1974] 17525/75 Heading B5A A plurality of shaping inserts 20 are loaded simultaneously into a plurality of mould cavities by means of apparatus comprising a storage plate 12 for holding at least one planar array of inserts in spaced apart relation at respective centre-to-centre distances equal to corresponding distances between associated mould cavities, and loading means 14 for transferring the inserts simultaneously from the storage means to respective mould cavities. The storage plate 12 is thick enough to accommodate a stack 36 of inserts, while the loading plate 14 accommodates one insert in each aperture 18. The mould comprises three plates 24, 26, 28 and a core 32 and is filled with elastomeric stock by means of an injection of transfer unit (not shown).
