Abstract

1491224 Labels CONTROL SYSTEMS Ltd 30 Oct 1975 [27 Nov 1974] 51286/74 Heading B8F A continuous label assembly comprises a backing sheet 2 with marginal feed perforations 8 in the sheet and in reinforcing strips 7, and a plurality of labels 3 each mounted on the sheet by areas 4 of pressure sensitive adhesive separated from the remainder 5 of the label by lines of weakness 6, whereby the assembly may be fed through a computer printout, the labels applied to articles, and the central portions 5 removed on sale and used as stock control tags. The assembly may be made by coating the underside of a web with pressure sensitive adhesive along marginal areas, coating the upper face of the backing web with silicone release agent, uniting the webs, passing them between roller dies which cut out the labels and strips and form the perforations 6, and stripping off the waste material between the labels and between the labels and reinforcing strips.
