Abstract

1491113 Hydraulic turbines KARLSTADS MEKANISKA WERKSTAD AB 12 Sept 1975 [16 Sept 1974] 37508/75 Heading FIT Fins 9 are mounted on the tip of the runner cone 7 of a turbine of the Francis type, or a pumpturbine, and are of generally triangular shape and positioned to provide a zero angle at entry and to progressively deflect the direction of fluid-flow towards the axial direction. In the pump-turbine embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the fins are retractable into the runner cone during pump operation. The fins may be selectively held at partially retracted positions.
