Abstract

1490703 Decorating by heat transfer DENNISON MFG CO Ltd 8 Nov 1974 [8 Nov 1973] 48476/74 Heading B6C A metal, ceramic or glass article is decorated by applying a heat transfer including a lacquer layer, at least one design print layer and a heat-activatable adhesive layer, at least one of the layers containing a material which can react to form cross-links between layers. Crosslinking can be achieved by incorporating a crosslinking agent in a layer which can react with a material in an adjacent layer. The design layer(s) and the adhesive layer are preferably overprinted on to the lacquer layer but within its confines. Tracer dyes which fluoresce under ultra-violet light may be included in the lacquer layer to assist registration.
