Abstract

1489762 Treating tobacco AMF INC 6 March 1975 [8 March 1974] 9281/75 Heading A2C Surface liquids are removed from tobacco leaves by non-abrasive contact with an absorbent foam or fibre surface. The process is preferably carried out on fresh leaves. In any case the moisture content must be greater than 35% by weight. In one embodiment leaves are conveyed past freely rotatable rollers having absorbent surfaces. The surfaces are cleaned by contact with chloroform.
