1488904 Bis triodobenzoic acid amides GUERBET SA 22 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 21963/75 Divided out of 1488903 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Novel compounds of Formula I in which: R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a radical of the formula in which R 4 and R 5 represent, independently of each other, a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl radical, R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkanoyl radical, R 3 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl radical or a lower alkanoyl radical, n is 3 or 4, or a lower alkyl ester thereof or a salt therof with a pharmaceutically acceptable base where "lower alkyl" denotes groups containing up to 4 carbon atoms and lower allanoyl groups containing 2-6 carbon atoms are prepared by reacting a compound of Formula II with a compound of Formula III Intermediates of Formula II above are prepared by reaction of the acid with thionyl chloride.
