Abstract

1488946 Web-dispenser PACLENE CO Ltd 22 Jan 1976 [23 Jan 1975 10 June 1975] 2954/75 and 24812/75 Heading B8M A dispenser for strip or sheet material and made of plastics comprises a receptacle defined by a container 14 and a movable lid 11 hinged thereto, and severing member 17 defined by the upper edge of the front wall of the container 14 whereby, in use, a strip or sheet material 26 from a roll 25 can be dispensed through an opening between the edge 23 of the lid 11 and the upper edge of the front wall of the container 14 and severed by the member 17 and wherein, when most of the material has been payed out, the lid 11 can be pressed towards the upper edge of the front wall of the container to effectively grip the material between the lower edge of the lid and the upper edge of the container front wall and to allow the material to be subsequently severed. In one embodiment, Fig. 4, the upper edge of the front wall of container 14 or the lower edge of the lid 11 includes a rubber pad secured thereto. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, the clamping of the material is promoted by interengagement of teeth 30 on the lid 11 and teeth 31 on the upper edge of the front wall of the container 14. Thumb press 19 and a ridge (20), Figs. 2-3 (not shown), assist in pressing and opening respectively the lid 11.
