1488712 Detecting malignant and non- malignant diseases in an organism SPITALUL CLINIC FILANTROPIA 2 Oct 1974 42838/74 Heading G1A In a system for detecting malignant neoplasias and other non-malignant diseases in an organism the whole infrared spectrum emitted by a "thermic spot" of an investigated organism are analyzed, and the nature of the disease is diagnosed by the shape of the spectral curve obtained, by its width, and its range of shifting as compared to the spectral curve of a normal similar tissue. In an apparatus for carrying out the above a variable wavelength mono-chromator 1 receives the radiation 3 emitted by the tissue 2 and the resulting mono-chromatic infrared beam is received by a transducer 5 (thermo element, bolometer or pneumatic receptor). The electrical output signal is fed via an amplifier 7 to a strip recorder device 8 that is advanced in synchronism with the change in wavelength of the mono-chromator. The variable wavelength mono-chromator 1 and the strip recorder may be coupled together by self synchronizers.
