Abstract
1486921 Darts CLARKE & MERRIFIELD Ltd 17 July 1975 [6 Aug 1974] 25148/74 Heading A6S A dart flight assembly has at least three flight vanes attached to a stem terminating in an adapter made from a thermoplastics material and having a socket which snap-fits onto a spigot extending rearwardly from the rear of a dart body. In one form, a brass dart body 4, Fig. 1, has a tapered spigot 6 with a ring-shaped groove 7 to receive a correspondingly shaped rib 12 in a socket 8 at the end of a stem 9 made from polypropylene. A sheet of polyester material is folded to form three or four vanes 10 slidden into slots extending from the end of the stem. In another form, an adaptor 13, Fig. 4, having a socket, &c. 11 is attached to the end of a cane, &c. stem 15 carrying natural feathers 16. In a final modification, an adaptor 17, Fig. 5, having a socket 11. &c. has three steel pins 18 pushed into a bore at its rear, with a plastics sleeve 19 threaded over the pins. Flight vanes 20 are slotted between the pins.
