Abstract

1485810 Measuring frequency; indicating channel number LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 28 Nov 1974 [18 Dec 1973] 51536/74 Headings H3H and H3Q The number of a channel to which a superheterodyne receiver is tuned is indicated by digitally measuring the frequency of the local oscillator in the receiver, effectively adding or subtracting the intermediate frequency of the receiver and further subtracting a reference frequency corresponding to the lowest numbered channel. The channels may be spaced at 300 kHz, starting with channel 0 at 87 MHz. There may be three transmitters for each channel spaced at 100 kHz identified as, e.g. 0_ (86-9 MHz), 0 (87 MHz) and 0+ (87-1 MHz) the -, nothing or + being derived from the final state of a counter 6 acting as a divide-by-three circuit. The Fig. 2 arrangement includes means 20 for selecting frequency or channel number to be displayed.
