Abstract
For sealing insulating glazing having two or more panes in a spacing frame, a sealing compound which cures by means of heating is used. This compound cures in situ. The sealing compound used contains substances with a dielectric constant epsilon >200. The curing takes place by means of capacitive high-frequency heating at a temperature between 40 and 90 DEG C. By virtue of these measures, only the sealing compound is heated. The panes of glass and the intermediate air space between the panes remain cold during this. The apparatus for carrying out the process includes the controlled conveying devices for the corresponding relative movements between insulating panes of glass (21) on the one hand and application device (8) for the sealing compounds as well as at least two heating electrodes (25, 25'), connected to an HF generator, for capacitive heating of the sealing compound. <IMAGE>
