Abstract
1484789 Automatic voltage regulation STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 2 Sept 1975 36084/75 Heading G3X A regulated direct voltage is obtained by amplifying a voltage tapped from a potentiometer connected across two reference voltages each produced by a series combination of a stabilized current supply, a resistor and a Zenor diode. The first reference voltage is formed by amplifying the voltage appearing across the Zenor diode, and the second reference voltage is that produced at the junction of the current supply and the resistor. As shown, a constant current source is connected to one end of a potentiometer P and to a resistor Rl in series with a Zenor diode Vz. The other end of the potentiometer is connected to the output of a stabilized amplifier Al with a gain-varying resistor R3 and an input connected to the junction of the resistor R1 and the Zener diode Vz. The slider of the potentiometer P sets the value of a stabilized output voltage produced by an amplifier A2.
