Abstract

1482231 Universal joints MOULTON DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 9 Jan 1976 [9 Jan 1975] 1004/75 Heading F2U A universal joint for a motor vehicle comprises a splined drive shaft 19 to allow variation in length between two Hooke's joints 17, 17a, one of which is connected to a flexible coupling consisting of plates 1, 3 attached to an intermediate member 2 by bolts 6, 12 passing through elastomeric bushes 8. Four bolts may be secured to each of the plates 1, 3 by nuts 5, 11 and the bushes 8 may be bonded to the intermediate member 2 directly or through inner and outer metal sleeves 10, 9.
