Abstract

1478629 Power steering systems DAVID BROWN TRACTORS Ltd 27 Oct 1975 [17 Dec 1974] 54543/74 Heading B7H Power steering means of a power-driven axle, including a casing 10 which contains differential gearing connected by half-shafts to stub-axles in respective housings 14 pivotally connected to each end of the casing, comprises a doubleacting hydraulic cylinder 20 rigidly secured to the casing 10 and containing a slidable piston 23 disposed between the ends of a piston rod 24 which projects from both ends of the cylinder 20, each end of the rod 24 being pivotally connected by a link 25 to a steering arm 18 mounted on a respective housing 14. Each housing 14 contains epicyclic reduction gearing interposed between its stub axle and universal joint means connected to the associated half shaft.
