Abstract

1477105 Haymaking machines W REBER 9 June 1975 [24 June 1974] 24588/75 Heading A1F Bearing members 6 (in which tool-carrying arms 4 are turnably received) are pivoted at 8 to hub 7, and are retained simultaneously in either a windrowing position (Figs. 1 and 2) or a tedding position (Fig. 3) and move simultaneously between the positions, under the control of a positioning element 14. The positioning element 14 is linked by rods 15 to the bearing members 6, and comprises (see Fig. 2) an arm 17 provided with a spring-loaded bolt 18 engageable in retaining recesses 19 and 21 in the hub 7. In the windrowing position, the axis 9 is vertical, and the bolt 18 is in the hole 19 so that spring-urged rollers 11 on the arms 4 engage a cam 12 to effect turning of the arms 4 during rotation to effect release of fodder. In the tedding position, the axis 9 is inclined, and the bolt 18 is in the hole 21 so that the rollers 11 are disengaged from the cam 12 and attachments 23 on the arms 9 engage in recesses 22 in the hub 7 to prevent the arms 4 from turning. The bearing members 6 are pivoted by centrifugal force to the tedding position, and by gravity to the windrowing position. Once released manually from one of holes 19 or 21, the bolt 18 will engage automatically only in the other. The machine comprises two rake heads 1 which are rotated in the same or opposite directions; in the tedding position, the tools 25 overlap.
