1476761 Filter elements DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 23 Dec 1974 [8 Jan 1974] 905/74 Heading BIT A filter element comprises a plurality of woven or non-woven layers of activated carbon fibres spaced apart by particles 2 comprising thermoplastics material (e.g. polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene) and optionally activated carbon, and bonded (e.g. by heating) to at least one of the adjacent layers. The element may also comprise a glass fibre layer and as a reinforcement a layer of perforated cotton scrim. The element may comprise folded layers. The element may be in the form of a face mask. In use the layers may be arranged in series or parallel.
