Abstract

1475755 Mine face conveyers COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 19 Aug 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 45996/74 Heading B8A A series of devices 1 secured at intervals along a laterally, bodily, movable, mine face conveyer (not otherwise shown), each have a spool 5 of cord, the latter passing off the spool and around a pulley 7 of an impulse generating device 6 before being connected to a fixed part of the mine. As the conveyer is moved laterally towards the mine face (not shown), impulses are generated from the devices 1 and are passed to a receiver (11) (Fig. 1, not shown). The latter suitably actuates a control means (12) in the form of solenoid valves thereby to control the action of advancing rams (13) for the conveyer. The devices 1 may each be replaced by an element (not shown) movable along an anchored track.
