Abstract

1474800 Measuring fluid-flow-rate electrically TOKICO Ltd 30 July 1974 [13 Aug 1973] 33609/74 Heading G1N The speed pick-up 17 for a turbine flowmeter has a core 18 of which the lower part is divided into three leg parts 18a, 18b, 18c and on which a single coil 19 is wound. Alternatively Fig. 3 the core is divided into three legs 31a, b, c, on each of which a respective coil 32a, b, c is wound. Each time a blade 14 of the turbine rotor passes one of the legs 18a, b, c or 31a, b, c of the core it affects the quality factor of the oscillator resonance circuit 21 in which the pick-up is connected whereby an amplitude-modulated signal is produced from the circuit. This signal is detected 22, filtered, amplified and shaped into a constant amplitude rectangular waveform of which the pulses are counted at 26.
