Abstract

1474653 Slip couplings METABOWERKE KG CLOSS RAUCH & SCHNIZLER 5 May 1975 [21 May 1974] 18677/75 Heading F2U A gearwheel 3 is mounted on a bush 2 on a shaft 1 of an electric tool by way of a slip coupling comprising a friction disc 8 abutting one face of the gearwheel, a friction disc 6 abutting another face of the gearwheel, these being mounted for rotation with the bush 2, and an additional disc 7 mounted for rotation with the gear 3 is provided between the friction disc 6 and a flange 5 of the bush 2. A dished spring 9 biases the friction discs 6 and 8 and the gear 3 and disc 7 into contact. The disc 8 engages the gear 3 through annular protuberances 14 and the disc 6 is corrugated. The bush has flats (Fig. 2, not shown) engaged by the discs 6 and 8 to entrain them for rotation and the disc 7 has projections 12 engaging notches 13 in the gear 3. As shown discs 6 and 7 are in a counterbore of gear 3. The bush 2 can conduct away friction heat.
