Abstract

1474559 Lattice towers; scaffold towers A C E MACHINERY Ltd 22 Nov 1974 [26 April 1974] 18339/74 Headings E1K and E1S In a lattice tower, the legs 1 are made up of leg sections 2 joined end to end, each section comprising two spaced parallel uprights 4 permanently fixed together by spacers 5, of which the two spacers at the ends of the section are connected between the uprights to the end spacers of adjoining sections; the end spacers 5 of adjacent leg sections overlap and a horizontal pin is inserted through aligned holes in the spacers. The uprights 4 may be of angle section and the spacers are vertical plates welded thereto. A pair of leg sections 2 in mirror image relationship may be interconnected by cross-members 3 welded to the uprights and spacers to form a frame unit. Opposed frame units are interconnected by detachable braces 14. The pins may pass loosely through the spacers 5 and are held by cross-pins with spring clips.
