Abstract

1474550 Pin mills, mixing apparatus PATENTANSTALT FUR NELIE BAUSTOFFE 5 July 1974 [5 July 1973] 29931/74 Headings B1C and B2A A pin mill type disintegrator and mixer has concentric oppositely rotating rotors 12 bearing rings of tools, 6 Fig. 2, and fan blades 8 on at least one of the two rotors. The tools 6 may be rods, pins or blades with sharpened edges. As described, three rings 3, 4, 5 are provided, with rings 3 and 5 driven by a rotor 1 and ring 4 by a rotor 2, Fig. 1. The tools 6 may be made of or coated with hard-metal or plastics and provided with protective strips 10. The fan blades cause material to flow from a central feed to a peripheral discharge. When the tools are formed as plates the material builds up on them and forms a protective surface, in known manner. Pin-like tools are used for comminuting grain or cement clinker and soft materials which cannot form a protective coating. Different arrangements of tools are illustrated in Figs. 3.... 5 (not shown). The tools may be replaceable.
