Abstract
1473163 Cleaning head-lamp lenses CIBIE PROJECTEURS 19 July 1974 [20 July 1973] 32114/74 Heading A4F A lens wiper system particularly for a vehicle head-lamp comprises a wiper element 2 carried by an endless driving loop 3 disposed adjacent the lens periphery and means, e.g. a motor M, for driving the loop 3. The element 2 is carried by an arm 1 connected to the loop 3 by a pivot 4 and held, during a major part of its movement around the lens 6, substantially perpendicular to the loop 3 by a spring 7. At one point of the lens periphery, however a cam 12 is engaged by a roller 13 on the arm 1 to tilt it so that the wiper element 2 sweeps any dirt in front of it off the lens. The illustrated loop 3 is flexible and runs on rollers 3. A plurality of cams 12 may be provided around the lens periphery.
