Abstract

1472354 Gas liquid contact apparatus, gas liquid fluidised bed AIR INDUSTRIE 15 May 1975 [17 May 1974] 20657/75 Headings B1F and B1R A multistage installation for contacting a gas 9 with a liquid in the form of a turbulent suspension 14, 15 of droplets comprises at least two superposed upwardly flared ducts 1, 2, a reduced section passage 3 at the top of the bottom duct, injection tubes 11, 12 for inlet of processing liquid into the flow of gas, and a separator 7 for the removal of droplets from the gas, which then leaves the apparatus through outlet 10. The separator comprises a centrifuge 6, and the separated processing liquid is returned by gravity through pipe 13 to the supply for inlets 11, 12. The installation may be used for dedusting, cooling, or saturation of the gas or removal of components from the gas into the liquid, accompanied if necessary by chemical reaction.
