Abstract

1470634 Photo-conductive compositions for electro-photography A B DICK CO 21 May 1975 [7 June 1974] 21947/75 Heading G2C A photo-conductive composition for use in electro-photographic materials comprises a polyvinyl carbazole (PVK), 2, 4, 7-trinitro-9-fluorenone (TNF) and an aromatic anhydride; there being 0À49-1À3 mole of TNF per monomeric unit of PVK and 0À05 to 5 parts by weight of the anhydride per 100 parts by weight of PVK. Specified anhydrides are phthalic; 1, 2, 4, 5-benzene tetracarboxylic and mellitic and the addition of these increases the charge acceptance and sensitivity of the composition. Specified polyvinyl carbazoles are poly- N-vinyl carbazole and polyvinyl- N-C 1-7 alkyl carbazoles.
