Abstract
1470368 Cistern with washing apparatus F Y WALKER 9 Aug 1974 [25 May 1973] 25036/73 Heading E1C A supply pipe 10 for a lavatory cistern has a first outlet 28 and a second outlet e.g. a sprinkler 36 for directing water for hand washing onto a cistern's cover and thence into the cistern, means being provided to adjust the proportion of water flowing from the supply pipe 10 to either outlet. The cover may be in the form either of a wash-basin 22 having a plug-hole 38 and overflow 42 or of a series of parallel bars 46. The supply pipe 10 is bifurcated at 26 into two branches having adjustable control valves 30, 34. The sprinkler may be connected to a hot water tank (which may be in the cistern) and the supply pipe is connected to the tank to force hot water through the sprinkler.
