Abstract

1470283 Matrix printing ITT CREED Ltd 2 Sept 1975 36086/75 Heading B6F A matrix hammer printer comprises hammer 2a, 2b, ... 2n and an endless belt 3 having projections 4 disposed in groups against which the hammers press when actuated by electromagnets 6a, 6b, ... 6n. The projections are arranged across the belt (Fig. 1b) so that dots are produced on web 1 at different rows of the first column of the letters followed by dots in the second column when the first is complete and so on. A 9 Î 7 matrix is described and a cylinder with pips may replace belt 3.
