Abstract

1470088 Soil working implements C VAN DER LELY NV 8 April 1974 [12 April 1973] 15546/74 Heading A1B A polygonal soil working rotor 18 of solid or tubular form is provided behind a bladed soil working rotor 6 which works soil at a lesser depth than the polygonal rotor 18. The rotor 18 comprises a central polygonal support 20 on which may be received plates 19 and spacers 21. The rotor 18 is journalled in arms 12, 13 which are pivoted at 10, 11 to the side plates 3 of the implement so that the rotor 18 can occupy one of three working positions of different depths or a transparent position. The rotors 6, 18 are rotated in the same direction by means of chains 51, 42, 46 driven via a shaft 36 from a gearbox 35 connected to a tractor .power-take-off. The rotor 6 comprises a central support 7 to which are rigidly secured circular plates 8 carrying blades 9 angularly staggered from plate to plate so as to extend in three helical rows along the support 7. A ground roller 33 is disposed close to the periphery of the rotor 6, for flattening plants. Tines 31 on a hood 25 deposit clods, stones and roots in the hole made by the rotor 6. Adjustable coulters 57 cut grooves defining the working strip of the implement.
